meet my alter ego, ama_fierce. a nice normal girl of drinking age.
I’m picky and Great Expectations is one of my favorite books, so no adaptation will likely ever leave me feeling all ~effusive and satisfied. Still, I will say that this adaptation is good so far.
Part 1 lacked some of the subtlety and humor that made the novel so fantastic but, considering the time constraints, it’s understandable that there wasn’t room enough for the screenplay to be anything but straightforward. Plus, grown-up Pip is just gorgeous. When he doused himself with cold water after Estella left him all sexually frustrated…I was definitely feelin’ it.
